This funding will enable the Office for Youth to respond to issues that affect the youth sector and young people by providing one off funding for projects that address a specific issue.

Grants Information
The Office for Youth is aware that many agencies in the youth sector find it difficult to attract funding and meet the diverse needs of young people in the community despite the significant contributions of volunteers and staff. In recognising this, the Office for Youth provides grants directly to youth agencies and provides information to the youth sector on a range of alternative funding sources available.

Below is a list of alternative funding sources available to the youth sector. Many of these grants are competitive and all have their own criteria. Click on the links to find out more about individual funding opportunities.
FUNDING ORGANISATIONS
Offers easy access to information on a broad range of funding options available to the community.
The website is a registry of funding and grants for business, organisations, communities and individuals. These can all be searched by keywords, industry or type to find exactly what you’re looking for.
This site will help you find funding programs to help develop solutions to local and national problems, fund ideas and initiatives and provide assistance in times of hardship.
Provide links to selected sources of commonwealth, state and territory financial assistance to community group and links to commercial services that provide grant information via a subscription.
Contains a database with approximately 3,000 sources of financial support for various projects. This site has a subscription fee.
ASSISTANCE FINDING, APPLYING AND MANAGING GRANTS
A useful website that includes a publishing house and 12 knowledge and service hubs. It contains some great resources that can help community groups, individuals and businesses.
The aim of this website is to provide a primary resource to identify the priorities of trusts and foundations and provide information about corporate funding available in Australia.
YOUTH GRANTS
An independent national grant making organisation offering a variety of grants for individuals and organisations. Grants that are offered include the Indigenous Small Grant, The Spark Fund, Youth Change Makers, Indigenous Youth Leadership Program and the Launch Pad Grants. Established by the South Australian government and are available to young people who are, or have been under the Guardianship of the Minister in South Australia. Grants are available to achieve personal goals; contribute to their health and wellbeing; and/or provide developmental opportunities.
One off support of up to the value of $1,000 to assist with some of the needs a young person may have when leaving care.
OTHER GRANTS
A South Australian state government program which allocates up to $4 million per year for one of projects that assist non government service agencies. Funding of up to $35,000 is available with most grants being for less then $10,000.
The Multicultural Grants Scheme aims to increase understanding, improve equity and tolerance, increase participation and celebrate and value cultural diversity in our community. Funding of between $2,500 and $20,000 is available for festivals, projects and events, community development and media promotion.
Administered by the Office for Volunteers these grants are available to support volunteers and organisations working with volunteers.
The Office for Recreation and Sport provide a range of grants and scholarships to support sport and recreation organisations and providers.
Funding is available to encourage the use of mentoring to improve the outcomes for young people aged 12 to 25 years, particularly those at greatest risk of disconnection from their family, community, education, training and the workplace.
SAYAB provides statewide funding to support innovative youth arts projects and activities across all art forms. A variety of scholarships, awards, traineeships and mentorships are also available.
Directly supports young, emerging and established artists, as well as new and established organisations. The grant finder lists all grants offered by the Australia Council are listed in alphabetical order.
Morialta Trust Inc
Provides grants for projects and/or programs to organisations or charity groups that help young disadvantaged South Australians. The trust can be contacted on 8239 1432.
The Ian Potter Foundation provides grants for public charitable purposes in Australia. The Cultural Trust provides financial assistance to individuals for the purpose of their education and career development in the areas of Literature, Music, The Visual Arts, The Performing Arts, Crafts, Design, Film, Video, Television, Radio, Community Arts, Moveable Cultural Heritage, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts.
Provides Community Technology Skills Grants to enhance access and training opportunities to individuals and software donations.
Grants of up to $10,000 are available to non-profit charitable South Australian organisations that offer direct services and support n community development initiatives to excluded, disabled or socially isolated members of the community.
The Foundation is committed to funding projects that are ambitious, innovative or unique in their approach in assisting Australia’s young people realise their potential. They offer on off Community Gants of up to $10,000 and National Grants of around $100,000 for major nation wide projects for a period of up to three years.
Arts SA information sessions are an opportunity to get practical advice on what funding is available and how to apply for grants. If you are considering applying to Arts SA for funding, then you cannot afford to miss these sessions. More information is available on their website.

YACSA is the peak body for youth affairs in South Australia. YACSA’s website is full of useful information, publications and resources including a dedicated section on grants. YACSA is located in Room 17, Level 1, Torrens Building, 220 Victoria Square, Adelaide SA 5000 or you can call them on 8226 3080.
The Office for Women has provided the Grants Alert service to inform women and women’s organisations of the availability of grants bursaries and scholarships from Government and non-government organisations. Alerts will be provided on a regular basis but should not be relied upon as the only source for this type of information.
