Youth Engagement and Participation
The State Government, through youthconnect South Australia’s Youth Strategy 2010-2014 recognises that for South Australia to be a vibrant state with diverse opportunities for all its citizens, young people need to be heard, they need to be actively involved in the development of their communities and in the decisions that affect their lives.
Young people have a valuable contribution to make in developing policies, programs and services to ensure they are relevant and appropriate.
In responding to the engagement and participation needs of young South Australians, the State Government will focus its action on expanding opportunities for young people to express their views on issues that are important to them.
To assist the Office for Youth in progressing the actions in youthconnect around engagement and participation, we are seeking involvement from our key stakeholders to help inform the development and delivery of these actions.
To facilitate this process, the Office for Youth has put together an engagement and participation plan that will assist us to consult on two actions we are now progressing.
