New online youth space
There is currently no one place where young people can access information on the availability of government services and programs, access information on activities happening in their local area, and contribute to an ongoing conversation about key topics of interest to them.
The Office for Youth will work across government to create a new online youth space in partnership with young people that will:
· provide a central hub of information on the availability of government services and programs as well as on key topics of interest to young people
· maximise new technologies to provide opportunities for young people to directly contribute to the content on the site.
The online space will provide a single place for young people to go to access information on issues affecting them, find local services, connect with other young people, discuss topics of interest, promote local activities and recognise young people’s achievements.
Over the next six months we will research and investigate what South Australian young people would like to see and need from an online youth space. We will also be meeting with key stakeholders from government and the youth sector to discuss the site from their perspectives. Following this, a model will be developed and put out for consultation.
