Strengthening the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) program
The YAC program has been an important program of the Office for Youth for several years, that supports young people to get involved in their community and express their views in partnership with their local councils.
The Office for Youth will strengthen the Youth Advisory Committee program to enable it to support:
· a broader range of views being presented to the Minister for Youth
· greater diversity of YAC membership
· facilitated links between YAC’s and other youth advisory mechanisms
· increased capacity for YAC’s to develop resources to respond to local issues.
