Southern Edge is an exciting program which encourages and supports young people in the southern suburbs, particularly those transitioning from school, to reach their full potential by providing them with industry training, access to youth development activities and exposure to employment conditions.
The program aims to assist young people to build a foundation for moving into employment or further education and training in targeted industry sectors within the southern suburbs, in particular manufacturing, community services and health.
Southern Edge also provides employers with resources to give them a competitive edge; supporting them to understand young people’s needs and to develop appropriate strategies for youth recruitment and retention, work experience and workplace mentoring.
