The Office for Youth is pleased to announce the 2017 youth strategy, youTHRIVE.
Recognising the connection between youth homelessness and relationship, family and sexual violence, youTHRIVE brings key players together – including young people – to co-design a Youth Safety Strategy that will harness our collective skills, efforts and resources to make a real impact in this crucial area.
Further to addressing the root causes of youth homelessness, under youTHRIVE the Government will collaborate with the University of South Australia, Uniting Communities and the Service to Youth Council, to pilot a youth homelessness program in Mount Gambier aimed at preventing at-risk young people from becoming homeless.
youTHRIVE will also expand the success of the Successful Transitions program. Delivered across selected metropolitan and regional locations since 2015, Successful Transitions has proven highly effective in connecting young people to the resources, support and the opportunities they need to work towards engagement in meaningful employment and education within their local area.In 2017,Successful Transitions will be delivered through a partnership between the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion and the Department of State Development.
