Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament provides a unique forum for young people aged 15-25 to express their views, become advocates for their community and learn about South Australia's parliamentary system.

The program is managed by the YMCA South Australia (SA) and supported by the Government of South Australia through the Department of Human Services.

Now in its 23rd year, Youth Parliament has supported over 1,000 young leaders to learn about the SA Parliamentary system, voting procedures, parliamentary etiquette, public speaking, leadership and bill development in a professional, supportive and exciting environment.

Since 2015, the introduction of scholarships for regional participants has seen participation in the program more than double from previous years.

Regional scholarships are available to support the costs of:

  • travel to and from Adelaide and accommodation for a training weekend
  • travel to and from Adelaide for the residential week.
